Reflections turns experiences into insight.

Since I first posted this Tuesday Tip, I keep coming back to this statement.

I have had a bunch of uncomfortable personal situations this fall.

I had a breakup, a family wedding and a nasty friend encounter. Each situation was manageable by themselves but having them all happen within two months was difficult. The sadness was compounded and by the last one I was a mess. I started to believe the negative thoughts I was having

I leaned on my friends and accessed all the tools I have learned over the years.

This is where the reflection came in.

As I reflected on each experience, I took time to find the lessons. I took time to look around me and find the truth and not just believe the negative thoughts.

I leaned on my supporters and took in the love they were sending. I stopped to be kind to myself, to love myself, and I shared my journey along the way.

I am on the other side of the worst of it. I am still emotional at times. I am still learning. I am still finding the triggers that need to be healed.

It is important to me to grow through this pain. I don’t want to relive it in the future.

I want to grow and change with these experiences.

That is what I think life it about. We all have things happen that make us sad. I want to learn so I don’t have to keep repeating the lessons over and over.

My goal is to be happy, to bounce back quicker and to live with integrity.

I feel like it has taken me so long to figure out certain things. But I realize everyone’s journey is different. If I had a happy childhood filled with love, it might not have taken me so long.

We can’t change the past, but we can learn from it and live a better life every day.

This works in all aspects of our lives.

Your career is just another lesson. Your experiences will bring you insight that will guide you to your next career.

Take time to look at all of your experiences. Think about them. Find the things you like and dislike. And then take that insight into your next experience.

That is how to find the ideal career for you. That is how I work with my clients. We look at their experiences in work and life. We find their superpower. Then their next career choice is obvious.
